CGC and IGSHPA Training Courses

Under the auspices of the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition and the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association, we offer geothermal installers' training courses. These are not manufacturer's promotions. 

Our past courses have had participants from diverse areas of interest: GSHP installers, HVAC contractors, general contractors, drillers, excavators, loop installers, engineers, architects, developers, manufacturers, distributors, refrigeration experts, dealers, duct installers, designers, individuals working with hydronics, persons in the controls field, plumbers, realtors, homeowners, geologists, trench contractors, sheet metal workers, safety code inspectors, persons involved with environmental issues or sustainable energy, and others interested in being exposed to this technology. Representatives from public utilities, private utilities, and rural electric cooperatives can also benefit from this training.

  • Designing the Ground Heat Exchanger

  • Grouting Procedures for Ground-Source Heat Pump Systems

  • Flushing and Purging the system

  • System Start-up and Checkout

  • Desuperheaters

  • Hands-on pipe fusion training

Participants, on successful completion of the course, receive a CGC or an IGSHPA Geothermal Installer's certificate, as well as a basic High Density Polyethylene pipe fusion certificate.

Materials are provided with the workshop sessions.
